My new addiction

I've recently fallen head over heels in love with Photoshop Elements. Just this week I've started an online class with Texas Chicks, and even from the first lesson, I feel the course has been worth it's price! If you are a photo and travel junkie like me...it will change your world.
These were photos from my last African Safari, that I was completely thrilled with at the time.
I am absolutely amazed by what a couple of quick adjustments can do.

Just have to share some of my before & afters with you:

Daring Adventures in Paint

I was away on a shopping trip, stocking up on my favorite things: adventure gear and art supplies.

I am taking Daring Adventures in Paint with Mati Rose, so thought I'd share where my paintings are at right now. The top one is my favorite right now, we'll see if that changes in the next few weeks! Look forward to playing some more with these and my new paints, and seeing where they go.

Circus Elephant

I haven't done much digital work lately, but I sketched up this simple little guy and I'm quite pleased with him.

orchid

I'm not very good at titling my work, and I'm not sure what to call these little ladies I am playing with these days. I have been working on book text out of a flower book, so for now I shall name them based on the flower of the page.
So this little lady is orchid. Her headdress is made out of one of my favorite patterns, Fossil.

flowers in your hair

This is messier/looser than my normal style. It was quickly drawn on my ipad. But I'm quite happy with it.

desert flower

Ahh...you know that sweet, sweet feeling when what you're doing makes your heart come alive?

One of the things I've been working on lately is Jane Davenport's I heart drawing class and attempting to learn to draw the figure. There is so, so much info in the class - just not enough hours in the day! This African lady was my first play at drawing a figure. I printed off some of my patterns to use as the "fabrics" for her dress and headdress. I am quite smitten with her!
